"What would you say a heart is? An organ? Something vital? Feeling? Emotion? If so... then is it no longer located in your chest? If I were to damage that which is in your chest could you still feel emotion? Odd thing to think about 'innit?"
Name: Kiarner Silva
Nicknames: Key, Omega, Omicron, Black Lamb
Age: 17 years.
Gender: of the male variety.
Game: Final Fantasy XIV, Kingdom Hearts (technically the series at a whole).
Personality: Key is by no means like most boys of his age, he's far too decisive in his decision making and it can come off as standoffish. In addition to his willingness to make tough decisions in the blink of an eye he lacks the foresight to actually know where those drastic steps will take him, he's much more of a follower sort of person versus a leader. And this is a frustrating false dichotomy, while being decisive doesn't mean you HAVE to be able to know where your decisions will take you it is also madness to let your decisions and the lack of thinking them through guide you. In that vein the kid is very much sensitive as he is determined and easily distracted. He's of a youthful nature, it's not doubtful he can't change himself and become more considerate and thoughtful, but at present that isn't the case. He does have periods of altruism and often does feel the need to help folks, if proposed the hypothetical question anyway. And despite his well versed vocabulary he is far from highly educated, math and science can easily stump the kid. He is also deeply concerned with the nature of his being, and when thinking on such intrusive subjects he will often be quiet and not say a word. A rare moment when such an ordinarily outspoken individual has absolutely nothing to fire out.
In short Key is ; Rash, Emotional, Stubborn, Shortsighted and Brazen. But he's also Adaptable, Reflecting, Kind, Energetic and Honest.
History: To fully understand what caused Key's birth we must look back, far more into the past then most would like to go. As a precursory warning this history section contains spoilers for both the series Kingdom Hearts and the game Final Fantasy XIV. You've been warned! In a realm far away from Terre, but not too far, there was a whole blue marble in harmony. Men and women living in unison and peace under the benevolent power of the Kingdom Hearts and it's protector the χ-blade (Key-Blade/Ki-Blade). And yet what are the mortal if not tempted creatures? There were those among witness to the Heart and Blade that studied it, protected it, but also coveted it. Those that wanted to take the power and wisdom that comprised the worlds heart snapped into action, while those that understood its purity rose to protect it and in a violent skirmish that soon turned to war both the ruler and protector vanished. Kingdom Hearts rose beyond the reach of man and monster, while the χ-blade shattered under the gross ego of man and beast leaving only the reflection of itself found in the weapons used in the battle known as the Keyblade War. It scarred the world, left a massive grave, and forever altered the course of history in its respective realm. But this violent change was not just restricted to such a realm of light, no, much like ripples in water it traveled.
This rippling, surge of warped light, eventually crossed into one of the thirteen realms of Hydaelyn. There this energy was intercepted by the Omega Weapon, a recently awakened creature that had longed to find the ultimate life form after having attempted to kill but ultimately captured a recently born and powerful primal at the behest of a Warrior of Light alongside the nations of Eorzea (one of the continents location on Hydaelyn). Dazzled and intrigued the weapon used the void it had formed, an embryo of vast magical energy, to synthesize a vessel based on the energy it had bared witness to. It wasn't perfect, wasn't even close, the Weapon reasoned. After all it's impossible to paint a star accurately when the muse had long flickered out leaving only its ghost in the night sky. So the project was a one off deal, and when the Omega Weapon admired its work it blinked.
The fifteenth child was gone, vanished, in a plume of energy. Omega had calculated the chance of this happening, and with cold indifference sat about to constructing more favorable forms. One based on legend, on power, not on unstable emotion.
Omicron was such a terrible name. And so when being flung to the realm known as Terre, thanks to the unstable energies of both the aetherical void and a broken heart, the fifteenth child was granted an identity courtesy of his own heart. Kiarner Silva, or Key for short. He was a child of two worlds, and while his body did little to show it the star stuff that comprised him would undoubtedly sear past this clever body. Either in the form of power or in the form of his guiding motivations and eventual turmoil.
Summons/Abilities: Like most keyblade wielders, Key finds himself able to unlock and lock most things (which aside from doors and chests this can include the hearts of others and dimensional gates). In addition to the fact his blade gives him an unparalleled affinity for the mystical arts bordering on expert technique and application if not for his lack in overall knowledge of potent and powerful spells. Aside from limited transformation on the cube/keyblade Key can also perform a variety of martial feats and isn't such a bad warrior when you get down to it.
Roleplay Sample: Another dash was made by the coiling form of a winged serpent, it's golden scales glistened in the gloom of the void and its fangs shined clean thanks to both its overdecorated hide and poisonous composition. Key dashed and rolled on the ground, he took to leaning into his shoulder to cause his whole body to press to the ground and flop around at speeds comparative to running all in order to avoid the hail of scales that followed behind each consecutive roll. In seconds the warrior was back on his feet and charging behind the cover that was scattered around on this world egg. Blocks of metal rose and dipped in the puzzle-like landscape that made up this arena.
Key cursed under his breath and hesitantly looked beyond the protective embrace of the pillar he was using for cover. He flinched when something hit his left shoulder pad, only to recoil when he snapped to see and briefly wondered what the clear fluid coating the armor was. Saliva.
Instead of looking up at the grim smirk of the serpent Key took to his right hip and produced a small black cube, before the serpent could dash down a few last nudges and twists were given to the toy-like object. Light took to creating a shell around the boy and intercepted the wide jaws of the serpent. The creature gagged, coughed and flailed as it tried to force the egg-like opaque shell of light down its throat. In seconds that shell expanded and splattered digital fragments every which way. Golden scales turned to pale blue before fading and not much gore was apparent, at each snap and break of flesh the material yielded itself to turning blue and flying away into the Aether of the arena.
From a collection of countless monitors the Omega Weapon contemplated what it had witnessed before dismissing the entire contents of the world egg, warrior included. In a flash of pale deadly purple the world was gone and the guiding intelligence pondered whether or not the true Omicron was as powerful as this echo. It was the first time it had no data or an answer, and it was as close to frustrated as a machine could be.
Codeword: "Stop! Moogle Time." Wait wait wait... Shouldn't that be Moglin, Kupo?
