World: Kingdom of Cornelia
History: Marvin Xarax, a young adolescent that has yet to master Archery: The skill of using a bow to fire arrows. His father Dervin has been teaching him how to use a bow ever since his son was at the age of eight. His mother was more of an armorer than anything, she was often seen at the local weapon shop. Crafting swords, maces, and sometimes even bows from the finest samples of Oak. They all lived in the town of Cornelia, next to the armor shop. His father Dervin was a fellow knight of loyalty, while his mother Karea built and sold weapons at the weapon shop.
Marvin had gained interest in Archery when he was five years old, this came from watching Bow Masters practicing in their free time. He had begged his father from time to time, wanting to be taught the ways of Archery. His father agreed to teach him how to use Bow on one condition, never use a bow against someone innocent. The first lesson went okay, but Marvin had some trouble aiming exactly where his arrow should hit. His father knew this would take time, so he was patient with his own son.
As days and weeks passed by, Dervin saw that his son was getting much better at handling a Bow, but his own son would have to practice more before he would properly know how to use a Bow. He would sometimes take his son out hunting, to get used to using a bow for getting food. This had helped him over the next couple of years of his life, every session of practice and hunting made him better.
When he had turn thirteen years of age, he was given his own Wooden Bow. This included fifteen Bronze Arrows, and his very own wolf-skin quiver by his mother. She made them herself in the weapon shop on her own time, she thought it would be a good birthday present for her son. Marvin loved this gift very much. When he received it, he hugged his mother tightly. It was the best gift he had gotten.
After five years, Marvin was now eighteen years of age. Around this time, his mother and father were getting ready to move away. Their son wasn't really happy with this decision, but he had to understand that this was for the good of the family. The reason they were moving away would be to find better job opportunities elsewhere, they knew another place where they could go. A place called Terre. His parents heard about this place from some individuals in the local tavern, and about the job opportunities that it provided. When he was packing up his Bow, he looked around the bedroom he had always remembered, and his beloved childhood of being in the house he always knew.
Once everything was packed away, they began their journey by horses. Marvin went with his mother, while his father traveled ahead. It seemed that the whole trip was going smoothly until they were jumped by three bandits that were searching for good weapons. Dervin told his son to take the horse and get away quickly while he took care of the bandits. Marvin wanted to stay and fight, but he had to obey his father and go immediately. His father gave him some gold quickly, and then faced the bandits as he drew his long sword. Without any other further words, Marvin rode off into the distance while his parents dealt with the enemies. If it wasn't for that, he wouldn't be able to get away.
When Marvin was finally away from those bandits, he stopped in a local town to get some rest. Since it was midnight. He waited for a while to see if his parents came back, but they never did. He assumed that they had died in battle for him, and went along with that fact. Marvin stayed at the Inn for three days before he would get back on his horse and continue his journey. To the place that they called Terre.
Weapons: Wooden Bow with Bronze Arrows
Magic/Abilities: None
Roleplay Sample:
"Let's see, according to this map... there should be another town nearby. I don't have much money left on me, but I have just enough to stay the night at a local inn," Mervin said to himself as he continued along the dirt road on his horse. It was nearly sunset, he had to hurry before it was midnight. He didn't want to get jumped by any thieves, or any other tougher enemies. He watched the clouds for a bit, then redirected his attention to the path in front of him.
"Trouble ahead, perhaps I can help stop that thief in his tracks with one of my arrows," said Mervin as he got his Wooden Bow out and equipped one of his bronze arrows. He pulled back on the string of the bow, and launched the arrow towards his opponent. It wasn't exactly on target, but it did hit the thief in the leg. Preventing him from trying to rob that innocent traveler.
Codeword: "Stop! Moogle Time."
