Personality: Aerith is upbeat and joyful, and is always there to cheer up her friends. She's very savvy, flirtatious and has a very carefree and naive nature. Aerith has also shown that she is more than capable of defending herself, and once she has made her mind up about something there is no changing her mind. Even though she means well sometimes, she can also be insensitive at times. She also has a strong sense of forgiveness and compassion, even to those who don't deserve it. She is independent, outgoing and often very motherly as well. 

She is kind, and has a intuitive understanding of others and is deeply in tune with nature. 



History: Aerith is the last of her kind, her people. She is known as Cetra or an ancient. She is from a race that has powerful magical abilities, which is why Shinra was always hunting her down her entire life. Even when she was a child. Aerith is only half cetra though. She was born in Icicle Inn to Ifalna, her father Professer Gast. He was killed by Hojo and she and her mother were taken to be experimented on by Shinra and Hojo. Her mother escaped with her to the Slums but died shortly after she asked a woman named Elmyra to take care of her and protect her.

So Aerith grew up in the slums with her new mother, but because of who she was had to be relocated by Shinra. Tseng actually, who actually tried to persuade Aerith to come with him but she refused. As she grew older, Aerith could hear the planet and became aware of who she was but hid it. She found refuge in the sector 5 church and grew flowers there. 

When Aerith first met Zack, he had fallen through the roof of her church. It was him who had bought her the pink ribbon she wears in her hair. The two become good friends even something.....more. Aerith always enjoyed seeing Zack and was there to comfort him when Angeal died. She held Zack as he cried. Zack and her go to start the business of selling flowers thanks to the carts he built her but it doesn't go well. Years pass when Zack was dispatched elsewhere and Aerith continued her flower business doing very well. During his time away, four years she had written him eighty-nine letters but none of them ever got to Zack.

One day when she is in her church, she stands and looks to the sky. Clasping her hands together a sad look upon her face, realizing Zack has fallen and is never returning. She then meets Cloud the same way she had met Zack, who had fallen through her roof. When the Turks come, Aerith asks Cloud to be her bodyguard with a date as payment. They find out Tifa gets kidnapped, crossdressing Cloud they sneak into Coreno's mansion only to learn Tifa had things handled. Aeris gets captured, AVALANCHE saves her. 

They escape Midgar to hunt down Sephiroth, Aerith's true heritage is made known to all. When they reach the Gold Saucer she sees Zack's parents and tells them she was his girlfriend, hoping to give them some comfort. After leaving the Gold Saucer they go to Cosmo Canyon and meeting with the elders she comes to terms with her powers and duty as the last cetra. But feels even more alone. Tracking Sephiroth to the Temple of the Ancients, she uses her powers to decipher the mysteries and find the inner chamber. When Aeris attempts to stop Cloud, he attacks her and is knocked out by a party member. While he is unconscious, Aeris contacts Cloud in a dream and tells him that, as the last Cetra, only she can stop Sephiroth. When Cloud awakens, Tifa and Barret tell him Aeris is gone.

In a temple underneath the city, the party finds Aeris praying on an altar. As Cloud approaches her, Sephiroth attempts to take control of him to make him kill her, but Cloud resists. As Aeris finishes praying and lifts her head to see Cloud, Sephiroth—still using Jenova's body as a vessel transformed into his likeness—descends from the ceiling and impales her with the Masamune. Aeris collapses into Cloud's arms as her hair ribbon unravels, the White Materia that had been concealed in her hair bouncing off the altar into the water below. Aeris was praying for Holy, the ultimate White Magic to defend against Meteor, called by the White Materia she had worn in her hair.

Within the Lifestream, Aeris's spirit commands the Lifestream to emerge from the Planet and push Meteor back, allowing Holy to fully focus its energy, and in January of 0008, Holy and the Lifestream destroy Meteor and save the Planet. In Final Fantasy Advent children Aerith is more of a guide for Cloud. She heals him and Tifa in the church and also uses her ultimate limit break Great Gospel to heal the geostigma and tells the children to go to the church to be healed. She is seen in the church, then walks off with Zack. She is seen again standing in a field of flowers as Cloud goes by on his motorcycle.



Magic/Abilities: Aerith's one ability she can use is Great Gospel, which heals any status ailments. If anything, she is more of a healer then a fighter.
